Most Number of Musician Playing Tabla for Longest Time World Record
29th May, 2011 day of closing ceremony of the Swarnim Gujarat Golden Jubilee celebration in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India over 300 students will play tabla for 1.15 minutes at Shreyas Foundation auditorium from 7.30 pm onwards on Friday. The event will be organised by Tabla Talim Sanstha and Saptak school of music in a bid to create a new Guinness world record in "Largest Hand Drum Ensemble".
The event is organized cultural and sports activities satisfy the Department of Government, in conjunction with Tabla Taleem Sanstha and Saptak School of Music.
Among the 315 participants, about 170 of Tabla Taleem Santhan, 104 from Saptak School of Music and the rest from various other music schools in the state, including 10 students from schools for the deaf and blind.
Munjal Mehta, a renowned tabla maestro and professor of percussion at the Table Taleem Sanstha said that such a feat has not been tried The artists performed songs like teen taal and ek taal and Pranam Pranam
