Today (04-Aug-07) I received this E-Mail -- most interestingly drafted -- "Two moons on 27 August" with "most temptating" last sentence : "Share this with your friends as NO ONE ALIVE TODAY will ever see it again." (!!!!!!!!!)

It is the natural mentality of any Monk to get deeper in to things. So, I wasted an hour browsing web links TO CHECK AUTHENTICITY. Then only I came to know -- the wise professionals, astronomers and engineers LAMENTING deeply -- for a hoax message fooling gullible common mass....

Thanks to the wonderful cheating power of the WWW gaining strength based on the browsing (or, email sending ??) capacity of common people !!!!

It isn't true.

On August 27 of 2003, the orbital paths of Earth and Mars brought the two planets to within 34.65 million miles of one another -- closer than at any other time in the past 50,000 years. Though Mars never actually appeared "as large as the full moon to the naked eye" (as claimed in the email), the red planet did vividly dominate the night sky for a time, making 2003's close encounter a once-in-a-lifetime event indeed for astronomers, space enthusiasts, and ordinary observers alike.

Nothing so spectacular is predicted for 2007.

Yes, it is a hoax for 2007 (search Google for "two moons 2007") - the event occurred in 2003. However, Mars is often in view and lots of information can be found at
